The Two Pennies tells the
true story of the Millar family in the lead up to Titanic's maiden
voyage in 1912. It is a unique insight into how the tragedy affected
ordinary lives, in particular those of Thomas Millar's two sons..
The story continues to
describe the aftermath of Titanic's sinking, using the voices of
several different members of the Millar family.
Thomas Millar worked in
Harland & Wolff building Titanic and then joined White Star Line
as an assistant deck engineer for the maiden voyage of RMS Titanic.
Before he left Belfast, he
gave both of his young sons two new pennies, telling them "Don't
spend those until I see you again". His younger son kept his
pennies all of his life and Susie still has them today.
Fully revised and updated
for 2012, including coverage of Susie's trip on the Titanic Memorial
Cruise, which visited Titanic's final resting place, The Two Pennies
is available in print, Kindle and iBooks multimedia enhanced formats.
